ITINERARY
Day 0.
Arrival at Madrid or Bilbao airport and transfers to Saint Jean de Pied de Port. Accommodation in Category Bed and Breakfast or Hotel in the area.
Day 1.
Departure: Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port – Arrival: Roncesvalles. 24 km.
Mountainous stage that crosses the Pyrenees. Roncesvalles is known for its collegiate church. Transfer to Pamplona for the night.
Hotel: Gran Hotel La Perla, Pamplona.
Day 2.
Morning transfer to Estella. Departure: Estella. Emblematic stop: Puente La Reina. Arrival: Los Arcos. 22 km.
Route that stands out for its architectural heritage, including the famous Romanesque bridge in Puente La Reina.
Transfer to Logroño. Hotel: Aurea Palacio de Correos.
Day 3.
Morning transfer Najera. Departure: Najera – Arrival: Santo Domingo de la Calzada. 21 km.
Neither the mileage nor the orography of the stage present any difficulty. The almost 9.5 kilometers that separate Azofra from Cirueña only present a positive slope of 190 meters, which gives an idea of the smoothness of the day.
Hotel: NH Collection Palacio de Burgos.
Day 4.
Morning transfer Carrion de los Condes. Departure: Carrion de los Condes- Arrival: Terradillos de los Templarios. 26 km.
Stage that combines the rich history of Castilla-León with natural landscapes.
Hotel: Parador de León (former monastery also known as Hostal San Marcos).
Day 5.
Morning transfer Astorga. Departure: Astorga – Arrival: Foncebadon. 26 km.
Those who want to deviate from the Camino to visit the nearby town of Castrillo de los Polvazares (Historic-Artistic Complex and typical Maragato town with cobbled streets and muleteers’ houses), instead of entering Murias de Rechivaldo, continue along the shoulder of the LE-142 for a couple of kilometers. After visiting the town, you must take a signposted track at the end of the town, which leads to the French Way just before entering Santa Catalina de Somoza. The detour adds an insignificant extra kilometer to the stage, so it is more than recommended.
Hotel: Parador de Villafranca del Bierzo (this Parador is located about a 30-minute drive from Triacastela, but it is the closest Parador option).
Day 6.
Morning transfer Sarria. Departure: Sarria – Arrival: Portomarín. 22 km.
River stage with forests and charming villages.
Transfer to Lugo.
Hotel: Parador de Lugo.
Day 7.
Departure: O Pedrouzo – Arrival: Santiago de Compostela. 20 km.
Description: The long-awaited end of the journey with the arrival at the Cathedral of Santiago.

Day 8.
